I marked this Blog: http://wiegerraveneism.blogspot.com/ .The
strength in his blog was that he added a lot of information and details and
examples in his last post, for his Animoto Video he has pictures of his hobbies
and it had a nice design. He needs to improve by writing an about me paragraph,
add a pictures of something he likes as a profile picture and add the post that
is missing.

Investigating different Software Options
HTML: Good, advantages are headings
are written you just have to fill it in, this way you are organized in writing something;
disadvantages are you can’t change font/color/size which makes it boring.
Dreamweaver: advantages are it has the
extra functions, available for both Mac and Windows operating systems.
Disadvantages are Confusing Interface, Lack of Code and Hard Drive Space
FrontPage: it’s better than HTML
because it’s the same where you organize the structure of the writing and extra
you can change size/color/font/edit/insert and all those features.
I think the most suitable software to use
is Dreamweaver.

Describing Digital Portfolios.
a blog is a web site on which an
individual or group of users record opinions or information, a wiki is a
website which allows its users to add, modify, or delete its content via a web
browser. The difference between them is that a blog is owned by an individual
whereas wiki is being updated by many people around the world.
A digital portfolio is an electronic
portfolio, also known as an e-portfolio or digital portfolio, is a collection
of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user, usually on the Web.
Such electronic evidence may include inputted text, electronic files, images,
multimedia, blog entries, and hyperlinks, the important features in a digital portfolio
is text, Images, blog entries.
Advantage of a digital portfolio is an
online portfolio proves that the student is proficient with technology; it
leaves the paper trail behind so online portfolios do not have the bulk, and it
is easier to share with others.
Disadvantage of a digital portfolio
is that if anyone has any questions about it, it is inconvenient not to be able
to talk to the student right then. Also security is an issue with online
portfolios.

Communication and the Internet part 2
Communication
is very important in emergencies such as natural disasters. By communicating
millions of people's lives can be saved. Not only that, medical supplies and
other necessities can be sent from other countries to help the horrible
situation.
Many
different techniques of communication were used during Hurricane Katrina and
Asian Tsunami. Ham operators were one of the ways that helped to communicate in
hurricane Katrina using voice, computers, televisions and Morse codes. Some
hams bounce their signals off the upper regions of the atmosphere, so they can
talk with hams on the other side of the world; others use satellites. Many use
short-range, handheld radios that fit in their pockets. Cellphones were a vital
aid in communicating to get help. Families were able to text or call friends or
other relatives in different parts of the world to get help. If they were to
try to call the police the system would probably be overloaded. There are still
many other sorts of communication used in now a day natural disaster.
The
essential information needs to be communicated during a disaster or emergency
are:
- The type
of emergency, the affected areas and populations and the emergency likely
progress.
- It's
impact on health.
-The
immediate impact on health services
- The extent
of damage to other areas similar to health operations
During a
natural disaster you can make precautions before it happens. For example, if
there is a hurricane or tornado, you can get underground in a shelter to avoid
the disaster. The tornado can't blow away an underground shelter. Even if you
do this, you must take supplies like water and foods for this as you do not
want to be stuck underground without any food or water and starve.
Stated
down below are the hardwires and soft wares required to communicating online:
Hardwires:
-monitor
-mouse
-keyboard
-CD-ROMs
SOFTWARE:
-WEB BROWSER
-INTERNET
-SAFARI
-FIRE FOX
