The difference between them is that a blog is owned by an individual whereas wiki is being updated by many people around the world.

Advantage of a digital portfolio is an online portfolio proves that the student is proficient with technology; it leaves the paper trail behind so online portfolios do not have the bulk, and it is easier to share with others.

Disadvantage of a digital portfolio is that if anyone has any questions about it, it is inconvenient not to be able to talk to the student right then. Also security is an issue with online portfolios.
